Elaine and Allyn’s wedding at the East Beach Bay Front Club in Norfolk, VA was absolutely amazing. At the end of the night, Elaine described their day as “perfectly imperfect.” Why imperfect, you ask?
Elaine is a wedding planner for Emily Weddings, so she knows what an absolutely perfect wedding day looks like. It runs smoothly, the weather cooperates, everyone is happy, the timeline is on point, etc.
Sure enough, everything was perfect, except the weather was NOT cooperating. Everything was truly planned to perfection (let’s be honest! The Emily Weddings Team and Elaine are impressive planners!). It wasn’t raining, but the WIND was fierce. The ceremony and cocktail hour were originally supposed to be outside, but the wind was so strong, chairs were falling over! It was also a bit chilly, so we had to call the “rain plan” even though there was no rain!
Decor and chairs quickly got moved inside and the ceremony and reception all occurred in the same room! Elaine and Allyn’s family and friends filled that room with so much love, the “imperfect” rain plan that no one wanted to call turned into an absolutely beautiful, fun, and fantastic day. “Perfectly imperfect” is right..and a great reminder to all couples that regardless of circumstances that may not be your first choice, your day will STILL be fantastic because you will be surrounded by those that love you the most and you are marrying your best friend!
